EPFO Mobile App , Short Code SMS and Missed Call Facility - Employee Provident Fund

Employees Provident Fund Organisation has launched a mobile App and other phone-based services to access PF account details for subscribers, pensioners and employers. In this article we will cover all the new services (EPF Mobile App, SMS based UAN Activation, Missed Call Facility and Short Code SMS) introduced by EPFO.

EPFO Mobile App

Once the EPFO' s mobile application is downloaded, members can activate their UAN accounts from the comfort of their mobile phones and can also access their PF accounts for viewing their monthly credits through the passbook as well view their details available with EPFO. Similarly the EPF pensioners can access their pension disbursement details through this mobile app. Likewise the employer can also view their remittance details.

EPF balance/passbook through EPFO Mobile App

You check your EPF balance/passbook through EPFO Mobile App “m-epf”. Follow the below steps to check EPF balance/passbook through EPFO Mobile App.
1. Download the EPFO Mobile App “m-epf”.
2. Open the “m-epf” App.
3. Click on “member”.
4. You will be directed to another screen.
5. Click on Balance/Passbook.
6. You will be directed to another screen.
7. Enter your UAN number and Mobile number.
8. Click on “Show”.
9. Now you can view your passbook.

SMS based UAN Activation

This facilty enables members to activate their accounts by sending an SMS to 7738299899 thus further making the activation process easy. The member has to send EPFOHO ACT,<<12 digit UAN number>>,<<22 digit MemberID>> from his mobile. Please note that there is no space before and after coma in the SMS. Once activated, the member becomes eligible to all services envisaged in UAN programme such as credit alerts, passbook etc. This facility is especially helpful for those members who do not use computers or smart phones.

Missed Call Facility

Members who are registered on the UAN portal may get their details available with EPFO by giving a missed call to 01122901406 from their registered Mobile number. If the UAN of the member is seeded with any one of the Bank A/C number, AADHAAR and PAN the member will also get details of last contribution and PF Balance. The facilty is intended to further ease the process since only a missed call, at no cost to the member, would provide him the PF balance and other account details.

Short Code SMS

The facility is similiar to Missed Call facility. UAN registered Members may know their KYC details available with EPFO by sending an SMS at 7738299899. The format of the SMS is EPFOHO UAN followed by first three characters of prefered language. The facility is available in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujrati, Marathi, Kannad, Telugu, Tamil, Malyalam and Bengali. For Example if member wants to recieve the SMS in English then he/she has to send EPFOHO UAN ENG at 7738299899. EPFO would send the members details available with it along with details of the KYC seeded, last contribution and total PF balance. Facility is available in 10 different Indian Languages.
