Credit card users are getting SMS from their respective banks, telling them that it is mandatory to link Aadhaar with credit cards. For example, this is what Citibank is sending to its credit card users:

“Govt. of India has mandated that all Credit Cards issued to be updated with Aadhaar number by 31^st December 2017. To update please SMS AADHAAR<Space>Your 12 digit Aadhaar number<Space>last 4 digits of your Credit Card to 9880752484. For details visit: http://citi.asia/INaadhaarseeding”

How to Link Aadhaar to Citibank Credit Card?

You can link your Aadhaar to Citibank Credit Card in the following three different modes:

1. Link Aadhaar to Citibank Credit Card online.

2. Link Aadhaar to Citibank Credit Card via SMS.

3. Link Aadhaar to Citibank Credit Card via offline mode (By visiting Citibank branch).

Link Aadhaar to Citibank Credit Card online

Follow the below-mentioned steps to link your Aadhaar number to Citibank Credit Card online

Step by step process

1. Visit Citibank Online and login using your User Id and Internet password.

2. Click on “Update Aadhaar” on the left panel under “Credit Card” tab.

3. Enter your 12 digits Aadhaar number in the space provided and click on “Continue” tab.

4. You will receive an OAC (Online Authorisation Code) on your registered mobile number to update your Aadhaar details.

5. Enter OAC received on your registered mobile and click on “Continue” tab. Your OAC is valid for 15 minutes from the time of request.

6. You will see a message as “Thank you for your Aadhaar updation request”.

7. You will receive a confirmation from Citibank regarding the status of your request to link your Aadhaar to Citibank Credit Card within 2-3 working days after you submit the request.

Link Aadhaar to Citibank Credit Card via SMS

You can also link your Aadhaar to Citibank Credit Card by simply sending an SMS from your registered mobile number to 9880752484.

SMS Format:

AADHAAR<Space>Your 12 digit Aadhaar number<Space>last 4 digits of your Credit Card

For example: If your Aadhaar number is 1234XXXXXXX9 and last 4-digits of your debit or credit card are 1XX2, SMS "AADHAAR 1234XXXXXXX9 1XX2" send to 9880752484 from your registered mobile number.

Link Aadhaar to Citibank Credit Card via offline mode (By visiting Citibank branch)

You have to visit the Citi bank branch with Aadhaar card. Fill Aadhaar link form. Attach the photocopy of your Aadhaar card with this form and submit it to the bank. Once verification is done, you will receive a confirmation on your registered mobile number or email within 2-3 working days after you submit the request.
